Reduce Stress

Parenting can be stressful.   Parents need outlets in order to stay healthy and emotionally fit.

Here's How:

  1. Set aside time each day for just  you.
  2. See your physician on a regular basis.
  3. Eat healthy foods.
  4. Exercise.
  5. Find hobbies that are truly satisfying to you. 
  6. Utilize respite care, so you can have some quality time with friends or your spouse.
  7. Get rid of clutter in your home.
  8. Enjoy the "downtimes", for example while waiting in a doctor's office or stuck in traffic.
  9. Join a support group, if you can't find one, start your own.
  10. Find ways to bring spirituality and motivation back into your life.
  11. Don't bottle up your emotions.
  12. Don't be afraid to show your emotions, laugh, cry, and love freely.

Tips:

  1. A healthy parent is one who reduces stress by taking time out for themselves.
  2. A healthy parent is a much more effective parent.
  3. Reorganize your priorities and you will find yourself with much more quality time to enjoy.
